Doctor Who Tea Recipe: The 10th Doctor's Regeneration Blend
What do you do when your best friend suddenly has a new body and is sickly? Bring him home to Mum of course!
This is exactly what time-traveling Rose Tyler did in Dr. Who: Christmas Invasion (Season 2, Episode 1) when the Doctor’s regeneration process didn’t go smoothly. The earth is under attack and the only one who can save everyone? Well, he is ill in bed with a satsuma in his pocket.
This tea-loving nerdy Dr. Who fan had to make a tea to honor this first Christmas episode of the revival.
Spoilers ahead…
The Doctor tries to tell everyone what he needs, and Jackie Tyler (Rose’s Mum), takes this mission to heart. She stands by, listening and ready to bring the Doctor what he requires but he cannot seem to tell her.
It is not until tea (that Jackie thoughtfully prepared) is spilt on the Doctor while he lay unconscious in the Tardis after a mad escape from Jackie’s flat that we find out, what in fact the Doctor needs:
“Tea!” he exclaims.
“That’s all I needed!
A good cup of tea!
Super-heated infusion of free-radicals and tannin, just the thing for healing the synapses.”

A Bit About The Herbs In this Blend
Black tea is high in comfort! Being rich in antioxidants, black tea is said to help the body deal better with free radicals which can be damaging. So it is not a source of free-radicals. Hey, the Doctor did just go through a lot regenerating so he probably just got that a bit backwards.
Satsuma peel is, well, a citrus peel that adds a lovely flavor to the tea. Plus citrus peels are often used for helping to support digestion and for nutrients such as flavonoids and vitamin C.
Rosemary is said to signify remembrance and the Doctor cannot remember what kind of man he is, at least at first. Herbalists often use rosemary to help stimulate a tired, sluggish mind. Perfect for a Doctor who is just regaining his strength and sense of self.
Wishing you a wonderful holiday and the best in the brand new year ahead. May you feel like a regenerated Doctor with all the freshness of new beginnings ahead of you.
Until next time nerdy fairies!
